Videos: Biden has not contacted families of troops killed in Middle East, reporter says

Fox News host Harris Faulkner appeared visibly stunned Tuesday after a Fox News reporter indicated that President Joe Biden had not yet contacted the families of the three U.S. military members killed by Iran-backed terrorists in Jordan over the weekend.

On Sunday, U.S. Central Command announced that three U.S. troops were killed and at least 34 additional troops were injured in a drone attack conducted by Iran-backed terrorists on a U.S. base in Jordan.

Jacqui Heinrich, a White House correspondent with Fox News, told Faulkner on Tuesday that the White House has not confirmed that the president has contacted the families of Specialist Breonna Moffett, Specialist Kennedy Sanders, and Sgt. William Rivers, who were killed in the Middle East attack.

“Also, Harris, watching for news that the president has contacted the families of these fallen soldiers or that he plans to attend their dignified transfer at Dover,” Heinrich said. “Neither of those questions [did] the White House have any answers on yesterday.”

After appearing visibly stunned by Heinrich’s report, Faulkner said, “It’s been three days.”

“That’s a lot,” the Fox News host added. “Well, we’ll thank them. We’ll thank those families and those patriots we’ve lost and all those men and women in harm’s way in the Middle East. We’ll say thank you and tell them that we love them.”

According to CNN, prior to the deadly attack on U.S. service members in Jordan, U.S. officials had reported 158 attacks against U.S. and coalition forces in Syria and Iraq since October. The attack against U.S. forces in Jordan was the first attack to result in the death of U.S. troops since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.

In addition to Biden’s apparent delay in contacting the families of the U.S. service members killed in the Middle East, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appeared to have a difficult time finding words to express the Biden administration’s sympathy for the family members of the U.S. troops during a Monday interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” Faulkner posted a video of Jean-Pierre’s statement on social media, saying, “Oh Monday January 29th was hard…”

In the video, Jean-Pierre can be heard saying, “What I will say, our deepest, uh, obviously, our deepest condolences go out, and our heartfelt condolences go out to the families, uh, who lost three brave, uh, three brave, three brave — three folks who are military folks who are brave, who are always fighting, who are fighting on behalf of this administration, of the American people.”
