
Wright-Patterson Air Force base was on lockdown Thursday night upon reports of an active shooter on the base.
A post on Facebook from the 88th Air Base Wing says law-enforcement was called to the base at about 9:25 p.m. on reports there was an active shooter in the National Air and Space Intelligence Center in Area A.
The post says the base is on lockdown as security forces search the building. The search was ongoing at 12:45 a.m., according to an update posted on Twitter. There have been no reports of injuries.
“We understand there are concerns and questions,” said an update on the post around 11 p.m. “Our first priority is to protect our people. All of our military and civilian employees are trained to quickly assess the situation and take appropriate action.”
No additional information was available Thursday night.
