Video: Biden falls 3 times boarding Air Force One as world press watches

This is a breaking news story. Please check back for updates as more information becomes available.

President Joe Biden stumbled and fell repeatedly while walking up the stairs to board Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews, Md. on Friday.

Video shows Biden, 78, stumbling about halfway up the stairs. He regained his footing and stumbled again, then while attempting to regain his balance, fell a third time down to one leg. He stood back up and climbed the rest of the stairs without incident.

It’s not yet clear if Biden was injured in the fall, or if he is expected to seek medical evaluation.

Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre later told reporters traveling aboard Air Force One that Biden is “doing fine.”

“All I can tell you is he’s doing fine. He’s preparing for the trip today,” she said. “All I know is … he’s doing fine, he’s doing great.”

“It’s pretty windy outside. It’s very windy. I almost fell coming up the steps myself,” she said.

Biden left the White House aboard Marine One on Friday morning. He is traveling aboard Air Force One to Georgia, where he is expected to arrive at Dobbins Air Force Base, and later visit the Centers for Disease Control and Emory University.

The White House said Biden will be delivering remarks from Emory University after meeting with Asian-American leaders “to discuss the ongoing attacks and threats against the community.”

In late November, Biden had slipped while playing with his dog Major and suffered small fractures in his foot.
